Fighting for
Rural Healthcare,
Strong Communities, and a Better Future for Southern Minnesota
I’m L.S. “Rusty” Nelson, and I’m running for Minnesota State House District 21A because our small towns and rural communities need someone who truly understands the challenges we face — especially when it comes to keeping our hospitals and clinics open and supporting our volunteer services and farmers.

Welcome
Rusty Nelson has called southwest Minnesota home for more than 30 years and has spent most of his life serving this region – teaching junior and senior high students, serving as an EMT, and active community volunteer.
Rural healthcare is under threat. Medicaid cuts are coming soon, and they put our hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and ambulance services at serious risk. Rusty is running for Minnesota House District 21A because he believes rural Minnesota deserves leaders who will listen, work together, and fight for practical solutions to make sure our communities have the support they need to thrive.

Why He's Running
What I Stand For
-
Protecting and strengthening rural healthcare
-
Supporting our volunteer fire and ambulance services
-
Working toward stable markets and supply chains for our farmers and families
Rural healthcare is facing serious challenges. Medicaid cuts threaten hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and ambulance services throughout greater Minnesota. Rusty believes communities should not have to fear losing access to essential care simply because they live in rural areas.
He is also passionate about supporting the volunteers who keep communities running — from fire departments and ambulance crews to the countless people who give their time and talents to make southern Minnesota a better place to live.
Rusty is running to bring thoughtful leadership, strong listening skills, and practical problem-solving to Saint Paul.
